Looks like Saturday is going to be really, really, really warm. I am thinking of doing a ride from REI to either Chatfield or Cherry Creek and back. I will be on my awesome flat bar Surly with no intention of going fast. Let me know if you would like to join me, all levels of riders are welcome. Departure from REI around 9.

Let's roll back the calendar. If we assume that June, July, and August is Summer. Then September would be like May, Right? Would you hang up your bike in May? I Don't Think So.

We've posted some really cool fall rides and a new time for "Lookout Mtn" Wednesday's ride. The long range forecast points to a similar Winter as last year; warm, dry and rideable! So join us for some great routes and trails this fall.

After a wonderful week of racing, we now have to get back to reality. I can't wait for next year's race. I met some really cool people on Cottonwood Pass and Lookout Mtn. To get a chance to see the guys I've been following all these years in my back yard was truly a gift. Thank you, USAPCC for a wonderful week of racing! Thank you for giving our club some really neat swag. I can't wait for next year!

Cycling Tips #'s 1 & 2 in preparation for Venus De Miles Women's Ride from www.WomenOnBikes.com SAFETY:
1. If road surface is wet, try to avoid riding on any painted lines, etc. If you get stuck on one, coast, relax, then move off of it gradually. They are as slippery as ice
2. When Passing a rider, or going into left lane, coast, bend right elbow/drop right shoulder, put chin to LEFT shoulder, twist your torso, & make 2-3 quick glances before proceeding.

Rapha does some wonderful little cycling films. This year they sent some guys out to Colorado to ride this weeks USA Pro Challenge route. Just clink on the link and look in the right margin for Stage one, two, shop tour, five and six. They are pretty special:

During Courage weekend, Jeffrey lead us on a "climbathon" MTB ride from Leadville/Twin Lakes to the summit above Columbine Mine. 10 miles and 4000 feet later, we were at 13,000'- a breathtaking view with nothing but Mt Elbert higher.

EPIC - the video link below speaks for itself. Thanks for a great trip, Jeffrey.

Hey Outspokin Riders, let's sign up! Signing up for a ride is easy and hey you get to see who's planning to ride. Plus it allows the ride leaders to send you an e-mail if the ride gets cancelled due to weather...and well that's been happening lately. So give us a heads up and sign up for a ride!
