Weather preparation
We have a couple of cool (that is, fun) rides scheduled for this weekend, but the forecast is calling for things to get stormy as the day progresses. Weather conditions can change pretty quickly, so if you are joining us (or if you are riding elsewhere) don't forget to bring rain jackets, etc. when you ride. It might be beautiful when you begin but storms can come in fast in Colorado.
Let's ride!
So it's supposed to be nice this weekend, so let's ride!
REI (meet near Starbucks) to Chatfield, then to Bear Creek, then we can decide if we continue on to Golden or stay on the path and head back to REI.
This is an all levels ride.
End of season party
Celebrate the 2010 cycling season with Out Spokin' at Breckenridge Brewery on Monday October 11. We will have a short meeting at the beginning and would love to hear from everyone about this past season and what you would like to see for Out Spokin’ in the future. Then let the party begin! Breckenridge is extending happy hour for us…yeah! Also if you want, you can watch Monday Night Football and play Pigskin bingo.

Tour de Cure
Hey all, don't forget that we've raised enough money to have our own tent at TdC, so when you're done riding you have somewhere in the shade to hang out and eat lunch! yay team!
Tour de Cure fundraising
Hey peeps! We are currently the top organizational team for fundraising for the Tour de Cure! Nice job (big thanks to David for registering as one of our team!) Let's keep the donations rolling in folks.

It doesn't get much better than that!
Well it does only slightly, if the temperature is a bit cooler (my bad for scheduling a 9am start, but that probably helped the turnout). Great turnout for a ride that was close to an hour north of Denver, and I think everyone enjoyed. Welcome to Christine and St. Robin, and hi to people we don't see quite as often! Big props to Maria for great ride leadership skills on her maiden voyage! And to Peret for her rapid tube replacements, even with extra blowouts to make things a bit more exciting! And yay Joan! Great riding girl!
Good times. Good times.
I can't believe I forgot to put this in the email last night
Anyone who knows me knows that I have two beloved nephews with type 1 diabetes, so I can't believe that after I came home from a fantastic OUT Spokin' ride last night, I forgot to put in a shout out about the Tour de Cure.
To date we have 24 riders and have raised over $2500 for this years Tour. With the Tour just 2.5 weeks away, there is still plenty of time to raise the minimum amount of $200 if you are interested in joining our team. There are several ride routes ranging from the family 12 mile fun ride to the hard core 100 miles.
breaking the rules....
I know I should post this in a forum, but I need more attention than that: I am supposed to lead Lookout from the Pillars tonight, but I live in Park Hill and I killed my car last week. Since I just started a new job, I can't exactly bail early to ride from home.
Is there anyone who can give me a ride please? You can contact me directly through here with the contact feature.
Thanks
Maureen
Info for Courage Classic riders (and partiers)
First off, even if you're not officially participating in the Courage Classic this weekend (our signature and probably best attended charity event of the year), you are more than welcome to join us in Copper for all or part of the weekend. The Social Committee has put together a bunch of fun, off-the-bike-activities in addition to, you know, the official ride.
We're kicking the weekend off with a barbecue at Rainbow Village, the traditional camping location used by the hardy club members who camp, near the chapel in Copper.
When: Friday, July 30th - starting at 6:00 PM
